POOTHAMKUTTY: Grand reception was accorded to newly ordained metropolitans, Mor Julius Elias & Dr. Mor Anthimos Matthews at St.Mary's JSO Church Poothamkutty, Angamaly in connection with the Vachanippu Perunal of the Parish on Saturday, the 24th March, 2012. The parishioners under the leadership of the Vicar Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal gave a rousing warm welcome at the Sehion Junction, Mookkannoor, enroute to the illustrious Poothamkutty Marian pilgrim Centre. Hundreds of decorated motor vehicles carrying the patriarchal flag, posters and muthukkudas added the flavour.

Felicitation Meeting conducted soon after the Evening prayers, was inaugurated by Adv. Jose Thettayil MLA, the Ex-Transportation Minister of Kerala. Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, the Vicar welcomed the gathering and dignitaries. Shri. Paul P Joseph, Smt. Eliyakkutty Antony, Smt. Daleela Thomas, Shri.M.S Michael, Shri. Paul P Kurian and V. Rev. Geevarghese Areeckal Cor-Episcopo spoke on the occasion.

On Sunday, the 25th March, the day of Vachanippu perunal, Holy Qurbono was offered by Mor Julius Elias. Unit of Shlomo, The Ecological Commission of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, was inaugurated in the parish planting a mango-tree in the church premises by Mor Julius.
