POOTHAMKUTTY: Arrangements for the Feast of St.George at St.Mary's Jacobite Syrian Christian Church Poothamkutty, Angamaly and the St.George's Cross Vault built under the Parish at the Vellappara Junction are afoot to be held on 5th & 6th May 2012. Being the steadfast source of blessings by the great intercession of St. George, Vellappara cross vault is the citadel for hundreds living in and around Poothamkutty irrespective of caste, colour and creed.

To mark the beginning of the perunal programme, flag will be hoisted by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal on Saturday, the 5th May at 5.45 p.m at the church premises followed by Evening prayers and the Anniversary of Parish Prayer groups. Rev.Fr.Thankachan Areeckal, Rev.Fr.K.T.Yakob, Smt. Daleela Thomas will render felicitations. Rev.Fr.Geevarghese Kocheril memorial award for the meritorious students will be presented on the occasion. Soon after the auction of articles offered by the faithful, nercha will be distributed to all present.

On the main perunal day, 13th May 2012, morning prayers will start at 7.30 am. followed by Holy Qurbana by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal. A Grand procession will be held from the church to the Vellappara Cross-vault soon after the Holy Qurbana in which hundreds will attend with prayers. After the special intercessory prayers with incense, nercha will be distributed.
