POOTHAMKUTTY: The Feast of Ascention of St.Mary, the Mother of God along with Independence Day celebrations were held at St.Mary's Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, Poothamkutty on 15th August, 2012. Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal was the chief officiate. Special intercessory prayers for the Nation, rulers, afflicted and needy were held during the Holy Qurbana followed by Independence Day programme. The members of the parish sung the National Anthem altogether which was the propel of the whole programme. T.M. Varghese, General Secretary of the regional Gospel Mission gave the Independence Day message. Sweets were distributed to all present.
