POOTHAMKUTTY: The maiden observation of first Saturday in the year 2012 was held on 7th January with fervour and piety at St.Mary's Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, Poothamkutty. The Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal offered Holy Qurbana followed by special intercessory prayer to St.Mary, Mother of God. As the church is blessed with the erection of Holy relics of St.Mary (Girdle), every first Saturday is slated to celebrate St. Mary's feast. Special prayer for the needy, sick and afflicted was also held during the Holy Qurbana. Hundreds of faithful attended. Nercha was served to all present.
