POOTHAMKUTTY: A rousing welcome was accorded to H.B. Dr. Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I Catholicos at St.Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Poothamkutty, Angamaly on 1st September 2012. Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal received Bava thirumeni at the main church entrance in the traditional way- handing over lighted candle. Hundreds of faithful irrespective of case, creed and colour attended the function.

Bava thirumeni led the evening prayer followed by Cultural evening at the church premises which was inaugurated by Shri.Anoop Jacob, Minister for Civil supplies. Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal welcomed the dignitaries and gathering. Shri.T.M. Varghese proposed vote of thanks. Mementoes were presented by Shri. Biju Palatty- President of the Mookkanur Gramapanchayath, Mr. M.P. Paulose, P.T. Paulose and M.M. Tensing, on behalf of St.Mary's Church. Shri. K.P.Dhanapalam M.P, Shri. Jose Thettayil MLA, Malayalam Poet N.K. Desom, Shri. Johny Nelloor spoke on the occasion felicitating Bava thirumeni in connection with His Beatitude's Sathaabhishekham.
