POOTHAMKUTTY: Hundreds of faithful attended the Grand procession arranged prior to the taking out of Holy Soonoro (Portion of the Holy Girdle of St. Mary) at St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church, Poothamkutty, Angamaly on 7th September, 2012. H.G. Yacob Mor Anthonios of the Honovar Mission and Mangalore Diocese led the holy ceremony in the presence of many cor-episcopas, priests, deacons and nuns. Hundreds irrespective of caste,Creed and colour were anxiously waiting inside and outside the church to have an eye on the holy soonoro with special intercessory prayers and supplications. This year special arrangements were made to bow the soonoro on the very first day itself under the leadership of the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal and the members of the Parish Managing Committee. The church was blessed by the erection of the Portion of the Holy Girdle of St. Mary, the Mother of God in the year 2005 by the Catholicose Dr. Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I.
