POOTHAMKUTTY: A garish reception was accorded to the Poothamkutty Region Kothamangalam Foot Pilgrimage at St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Church, Poothamkutty, Angamaly on 1st October 2012. The pilgrimage started from the Kodaly St.Mary's Church of the Trichur diocese which was formerly inaugurated by H.G.Dr.Athanasius Elias Metropolitan on 1st October at 9.30am. At 7pm the pilgrimage reached the St.George Chapel Vellappara and under the charismatic leadership of the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal, members of the Poothamkutty area accorded a warm welcome in which members from different walks of life irrespective of caste and Creed attended. At the Parish main entrance, the pilgrimage was received by v.Rev. Mathai Poovanthara Cor-episcopo, the newly elected priest trustee of the Jacobite Syrian Church. After the Evening prayers, a love feat has been arranged for the Participants of the programme in which hundreds attended. Holy Qurbana was offered at 5am on 2nd October by the Vicar Rev.Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal and after the refreshments the pilgrimage moved to the next destination.
