POOTHAMKUTTY: The Feast of Assumption of St. Mary's Mother of God and India's 66th Independence Day were jointly commemorated at St. Mary's Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, Poothamkutty on Thursday the 15th August, 2013. In the Morning, Holy Qurbana was offered by the Vicar Rev. Fr. Alias Ipe Parackal. Special intercessory prayers to St. Mary were held during the Holy Qurbana followed by Independence day celebrations at the parish premises. Shri. T.M. Varghese, Secretary of the Angamaly Region Gospel Mission, spoke on the occasion paying tribute to the Great leaders who fought for India's glorious Independence. Sweets were distributed to all present.
