The spiritual liveliness of Poothamkutty church is the intercessery prayer to St.mary, that is conducted in between the Holy Qurban. Although 92 families are under this parish, but nearly 15000 people register their names for intercessary prayer for a year and only Rupees 5 for intercessary prayer. At time of intercessary prayer people pray to St.Mary with lighted candle in their hand. During ettunombu perunnal, 1st Saturday of every month and every Sunday, people from other churches come here and pray to St.Mary. They pray not only for them but also for their relatives abroad, sick people and expired one.
